GNGA scholarship is Merit cum Means scholarship instituted by Kaleesuwari Foundations. The scholarship was instituted in the memory of Kaleesuwari Refineries Founder's parents. Gurusamy Nadar and Thirumathi Guruvathai Ammal, to exemplify the values of perseverance, hard work, and moral stature. The 3-year-old program has so far provided scholarships close to 1.5 crores to 386 deserving students to help them complete their college education.

Scholarship applications are closed for this academic year 2024-2025

GNGA Scholarship aims to support meritorious and needy students belonging to underprivileged sections of the society. The scholarships are meant for college students pursuing their 1st and 2nd year UG programs. Under the scholarship, the students who are unable to bear the cost of education due to family financial situations are provided with monetary assistance of maximum of upto 75% of their academic fees* to continue their studies.

Objective:
  • To support students from economically poor back ground to pursue higher education.
  • To support and sponsor students with exceptional talents in sports, arts and other extra.
  • To equip and train students to be employable.
  • To make them responsible citizens.
What do you get in the scholarship?
Maximum of upto 75% financial scholarship per year-based on fees structure of the student.
Eligibility:
  • Open for Indian nationals
  • Students from economically poor background wanting to pursue under graduation program in Colleges / Universities in India.
  • Applicants who have completed school applying for admission in colleges, students who are currently in their first year of college undergraduate program can apply.
  • Applicants should have scored minimum 60% in public exams.
  • Applicants from arts and professional courses are allowed
  • Applicants attending private tuitions for NEET / CA admissions / other courses will not be entertained.
  • Courses in foreign universities will not be funded.
Criteria for selection:
  • Economic background with an annual income of less than 2 lakhs
  • Last studied school: Govt/Aided schools, private poor schools/ in lower economic areas schools run by NGOs.

Process of selection :
  • Application received for scholarship by students through kaleesuwari website.
  • Verification of application by phone call and personal visits
  • Personal Interview
  • Final Selection based on cumulative marks based on the criteria
  • Continuation of scholarship for subsequent years depends on students performance in college

  • Bonafide certificate (Post receiving scholarship)
  • College ID / letter of admission from college (Post receiving scholarship)
  • Fees details from the college. (Post receiving scholarship)
  • Accounts and cheque details of the college or institution. (Post receiving scholarship)
  • Copy of receipts from the college. (Post receiving scholarship)
  • Income Proof (any one from the three proofs given below):
    • Income Proof issued by Gram Panchayat/Ward
    • Counsellor/Sarpanch
    • Income Proof issued by SDM/DM/CO/Tehsildar
    • Affidavit by notary

Disbursement of scholarship & follow ups
  • Direct payment to colleges and schools
  • Students must submit letter from the college about the fees structure, dues, and request for fees payment along with bank details
  • Kaleesuwari Foundation directly pays fees to the colleges
  • Once the payment is done, students must send the copy of receipt to the foundation
  • Kaleesuwari Foundation team will be in touch with you to regular updates follow ups
  • Applicants are expected to actively participate in employability training programs as part of GNGA scholarship
